IMMEDIATE ACTION
Call Safety and Support Services (SASS) 

  • From an external phone: 574-936-9936 
  • From an internal extension: 0
  • Using CampusShield, swipe the red emergency phone icon 
PROCEDURE
In the event of any form of disturbance, threatening behavior or altercation on the premises follow these steps:
  1.  If the situation cannot be diffused or brought under control, immediately dial 0 from an internal extension, 574-936-9936 from an external phone and ask for SASS to be dispatched or use the Campus Shield app to swipe the red emergency phone icon. Be specific about the location of the disturbance and description of the people involved. 
  2. If the situation continues to escalate, SASS will proceed with calling for back up from the Marshall County Sheriff’s department by means of a 911 call. 

Co-workers should NOT put themselves or others at risk. Co-workers should try to prevent injury to all while waiting for assistance if that can be done without risk.
