Kim is a Marian University graduate, Class of ’85 who received her Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting. Her role at Marian today is working in the Office of Financial Aid as the administrative assistant. She is the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff who come seeking answers to their financial aid questions.

“I hold a certain fondness for Marian University, it was where my independent life began. My senior year at Marian was challenging as I was a full-time student and also worked part-time at Allison Gas Turbine (today known as Rolls Royce). Upon graduating, I was hired full-time at Allison in the Financial/Accounting Department where I worked for 13 years. I married and became a stay-at-home mom for the next 18 years. In 2016, I was blessed to join the staff at Marian University. Marian was home to me in the 80’s where I made life-long friends, memories, and was well prepared to embark on an exciting career. Today that environment is still ‘home'.”

As I look back to what I knew as a student to what I know today, I see Marian University as it has been described—a gem in the city of Indianapolis. Under the guidance of Mary, the Mother of God and the beautiful Franciscan values of our foundresses, Marian’s mission and environment speaks to the heart and the mind of the person. As St. Augustine quoted, 'Our hearts are restless until they rest in thee.' We all want to be loved and know that we have a God-given mission. I am blessed to have a mission/journey with God that started at Marian University in 1981 and continues today.”
