Parents, Families, and Guests
Sending your student to Marian University is a big step for your family. During your Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) session, we’ll be glad to ease your worries, answer your questions, and support your family through this transition.
Parents and family members are both welcome and encouraged to attend SOAR with your incoming students. We'll have sessions and programs specifically designed for you so you can learn how to best support your Marian student.
During SOAR, parents, families, and guests can:
- Attend a family panel facilitated by the Dean of Students with panelists who are faculty, staff, and parents of college students. This is your opportunity to ask all the tough questions you have without worrying about embarrassing your student.
- Learn about some of the best ways to support your student during their transition to college through sessions designed specifically for you.
- Connect with faculty, staff, and current students, who are all excited to answer questions, ease worries, and be a point of contact for you throughout your student's Marian experience.
- Attend sessions with your student regarding academics and campus resources.
Students should indicate on their SOAR reservation form whether they will bring one or two guests with them to SOAR. If this information changes after your student registers, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
