Department of History and Social Science
The History and Social Science Department is home to three Academic Programs: History, Political Science, and Sociology. The department offers bachelors degrees and minors in the three areas. It also produces the Undergraduate Journal of History and Social Science which provides undergraduate students an excellent opportunity to publish their research.
Students majoring or minoring in History, Political Science, or Sociology have had the opportunity to engage in numerous study abroad programs, service learning trips, and academic visits to Washington, D.C. Undergraduate students in the department typically obtain highly sought after internships at sites such as the Mayor's office, Department of Family and Child Services, Catholic Charities, the Peace Institute, and the Julian Center. Graduates from the department have been accepted to various graduate schools, post-graduate service programs abroad and nationally, and community-focused research organizations.
The department is located in Marian Hall on the second and third floors. For additional information on any of the programs, contact Dr. Ray Haberski below or click on one of the links on the left.
