Resources
All senior-level projects should follow guidelines established by the Society for Science and The Public.
Exhibit Requirements
-
Exhibitors must be confined to a table or floor space 30 inches deep (front to back), by four feet wide (side to side), and eight feet tall (from the floor), or smaller. Table space will be provided for each exhibit. Exhibits should be sturdily constructed and must be self-supporting. Construction must be durable with movable parts firmly attached and safe.
-
Electric power (120 volts AC) will be available. The exhibitor must provide extension cords at least nine feet in length.
-
Anything, which could be hazardous to public display, is prohibited. No liquids, dangerous chemicals, or pressurized gases may be brought into the exhibition hall.
-
Proper attention to safety is expected of all participants.
-
Exhibits at the regional science fair may not contain live vertebrate animals, preserved specimens, or microbial cultures of any kind. Projects which use live vertebrate animals, including humans, must follow strict regulations and complete protocol forms as imposed by the International Science and Engineering Fair. These forms must be completed prior to any experimentation. Copies of these rules may be obtained from the school coordinator, regional director, or online at www.societyforscience.org. Rules for elementary and middle school projects are available at www.neitssciencefair.org.
-
No cell phones or pagers will be allowed on the judging floor.
Report
Each exhibitor must have a write-up of his project. This should be a concise explanation of the objective.
