Marian University, through a partnership with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, established the Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary. Men discerning a vocation to ordained ministry participate in a formation program for the priesthood which includes community prayer, formation conferences and the study of philosophy and theology which will prepare them for the next level of priestly formation. The program focuses on four aspects:
- Human formation (growth as a person; communication; leadership skills; and relationship skills)
- Spiritual formation (becoming a man of prayer; being a disciple of Jesus; Mass and prayer; and spiritual direction)
- Intellectual formation (solid grounding in philosophy and theology)
- Pastoral formation (service to the poor; helping at a parish; and visiting the sick)
Men interested in living in the Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary have to be affiliated with their local diocese.
