Teacher License Renewal

Marian University strives to meet the needs of the professional education community. The School of Education, in keeping with our mission, “Teacher as Model and Mentor: Ever Teaching, Ever Learning,
Ever Changing” knows that teachers need to renew and grow their professional knowledge and qualifications. Summer is often an ideal time for faculty and staff to take course work that will meet licensing requirements. It is the goal of the School of Education to provide meaningful courses that will allow educators to add content or grade levels to current licenses, or to gain licensure while teaching on an Emergency Permit or a Transition to Teaching Permit. You will find a full summer schedule for Marian University here, a listing of courses that are specific to Educators here, and the application and registration for those who wish to take summer course work here. These can be photocopied as needed.

It is the goal of the School of Education to provide new and innovative courses, along with those that are traditionally strong. We hope that the offerings for Summer 2009 meet the needs of many in the teaching community. If you have specific course needs or have courses that you would like to see
developed, your suggestions would be welcome. Schools in our community, the teachers, and the students are of the utmost importance to the School of Education; we look forward to serving all of you.

NOTE:  License renewal courses are a part of the Marian University's ACTION program.  The tuition cost is $300 per credit hour.  You will need to provide all official transcripts, a completed application and your registration fee to ensure placement in these courses.  The deadline for Summer 2009 applications is April 27, 2009.
