Welcome to the Marian University School of Education!
We offer a variety of pathways to classroom teaching, including traditional, bachelor's level preparation, Master of Arts in Teaching programs, and professional development opportunities for in-service teachers.
As part of a Franciscan university, the School of Education integrates core values into each of its programs: dignity of the individual, peace and justice, reconciliation, and responsible stewardship.
All of our programs emphasize parent engagement and diversity issues, including working with English language learners. Professors hold courses on campus and on sites at local elementary schools. Our students benefit from extensive work in area schools, starting in the first year in our initial licensing programs.

Teacher As Model and Mentor:
Ever Teaching, Ever Learning, Ever Changing
The theme of the School of Education provides the foundation for learning to teach. One of the wonderful things about the teaching profession is that it allows an individual to improve continuously, to grow and become better each day, each week, each month, each year. It is a profession of constant renewal based on the needs of children in every classroom. We invite you to choose this rewarding career, and to let the School of Education at Marian University lead you there.
