Are you interested in gaining leadership experience and assisting students in our on-campus communities? Apply to be a resident assistant (RA) at Marian University! How to Apply:

Visit Knight Work to apply. You must upload a resume which will then be approved by staff at The Exchange. Please give two business days for your resume to be approved.

New Applicants

Applicants will attach a resume and answers to essay questions to the KnightWork application. Two letters of recommendation, one from a faculty or professional staff member and one from a current or past Housing and Residence Life staff member, must be emailed to housing@marian.edu from the people writing them. The application and all supporting materials MUST be turned in by Friday, January 20, 2017 at noon.

Returning Applicants​

Applicants will attach a resume and answers to essay questions to the Knight Work application. An electronic presentation must also be submitted to your Resident Director. The application and all supporting materials MUST be turned in by Friday, January 20, 2017 at noon.

Interview Process:

New Applicants
If all requirements are met, candidates will participate in the Interview Day on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from  9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Hiring decisions will be sent out via email and campus mail by Friday, February 10, 2017.

Returning Applicants
Candidates will sign up for an interview during Mid-Year Resident Assistant Orientation. Interviews will occur between January 26-27. You must prepare a presentation on your past performance as a Resident Assistant and ways in which you can improve in the future. Hiring decisions will be sent out via email and campus mail by Friday, February 10, 2017.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a full-time Marian University student
  • Must be in good academic and social standing at time of application and during employment
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 at time of application and during employment
  • Must have lived on a university/college campus for the period of at least one semester
  • Must attend one Resident Assistant Information Session (new applicants only)
  • Must be available for the Interview Day on Saturday, February 4 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (new applicants only)
  • Must be available for the entire duration of all training sessions:
    • Resident Assistant Pre-Training (RAP): Sunday, April 4, 2017 from 1-7 p.m.
    • Resident Assistant Orientation (RAO): Friday, July 28, 2017 - Sunday, August 20, 2017
    • Mid-Year RA Orientation (MYRAO): Wednesday, January 3, 2018 - Sunday, January 7, 2018

Timeline:

  • November 1: Applications available on Knight Work 

  • January 20 at noon: Applications and supporting materials due

  • January 26-27: Returning Resident Assistant Interviews

  • February 4, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.: New Resident Assistant Interview Day

  • February 10: Decision letters will be delivered via email and campus mailboxes

  • February 17: Acceptance or declination of hiring offer due
