Accounting

Marian University’s Accounting Program is specifically designed to help students become successful professionals by integrating a strong foundation of personal and professional ethics into the curriculum. The faculty encourages students to respect, appreciate and involve themselves in other intellectual disciplines. Marian University students develop creative thinking skills, integrity, leadership, social responsibility and a commitment to life-long learning. The Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards are discussed.

Marian University’s Accounting Program offers a quality, up-to-date comprehensive curriculum of courses designed to ensure professional competence. Students may choose a course of study leading to either a Bachelor of Science or an Associate of Science degree in Accounting. Also, the 150-Hour Accounting Program (four year or five-year option) is available to students preparing for the CPA Examination. Most majors graduate with a double major in Accounting and Finance or another academic major.

The 150-Hour Accounting Program’s academic credits are accepted by the Indiana State Board of Public Accountancy for qualifications to sit for the uniform CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Examination and the Institute of Management Accountant’s CMA (Certified Management Accountant) Examination.
