Selection

Selection of International travel grant awardees take place in the following manner:

  • Travel grant applications are reviewed by program, by the Study Abroad Director, and the McKinney Chair of International Programs.
  • Awardees are selected to receive a travel grant based on the quality of essay responses, how well their rationale aligns with the particular program and course they are receiving credit for, and financial need. The Study Abroad Director and McKinney Chair of International Programs will include faculty-leaders or accompanying faculty in the selection process to ensure alignment with student rationale and course objectives.
  • Awardees are then notified by the Office of International Programs of the selection outcomes.
  • In situations where the demand for travel grants is greater than the number of grants available, students will be selected based on highest financial need.
