Accelerated BSN

The accelerated baccalaureate in nursing (BSN) is designed for students who have a minimum of a previous bachelor's degree in a discipline other than nursing. Graduates of the program receive a BSN degree.

Highlights of the program include:

  • Accelerated nursing clinical rotation after successful completion of pre-requisite and general education requirements

  • Personal attention from well-qualified, expert faculty

  • Small, close-knit cohort of no more than 24 students for foundation courses

  • Faith-based program

Hands-on education takes place at a variety of settings throughout Indianapolis and the surrounding area. The clinical work begins in our Louis C. Gatto Nursing Resource Center where students can learn and practice with faculty supervision and feedback. Later, students develop and practice in real-world hospital settings with direct faculty supervision. Clinical experiences will include adult health, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, leadership and management, intensive care, and a variety of community-based health settings.

Students in the accelerated BSN program complete most nursing courses in five- to seven-week rotations. The senior nursing courses are typically taken with other senior nursing students.  Applications are received on an ongoing basis and admission to this option is in January of each year.
