Marian University students and staff, community volunteers, and local sponsors got to work last Friday, October 26 at the Fox59 Habitat House.
The house, now on its foundation on Kenwood Avenue on the near north side of Indianapolis, began with a panel build September 13 in the Fox59 parking lot.
Among others, volunteers from Marian University added siding to the house and painted. Homeowners Cleo and Kara Allen have been working alongside volunteers.
Habitat for Humanity partners with companies, organizations and individuals to make affordable homes for low-income families. Families must invest up to 450 hours of “sweat equity” working on their own house and other Habitat houses and take financial planning courses to be eligible for ownership.
